The Bigger Picture

READ:
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any of you add a single hour to your life by worrying?” (Matthew 6: 26-27)

REFLECT:
Adult coloring books are time consuming, soothing, and surprisingly complex. Each page contains tiny blank spaces of all shapes and sizes. Choosing patterns and colors to shade requires deep mental focus and countless hours, but when the page is finished, it’s a beautiful work of art!

Matthew 6:26-27 explains why we shouldn’t spend our time worrying. Our heavenly Father will provide for us no matter the circumstances, and you never know what His plan for your life will look like until you follow His lead.

Instead of consuming our time with serious anxiety and doubt, we should believe in our strength through the Lord. We have the ability to make our own choices, but if we choose wisely, we will eventually be able to see the colorful masterpiece He has laid out before us.

PRAY:
Father, forgive us for doubting when we should trust You. Give us the wisdom to see the bigger picture. Make it painfully obvious that our plans are inferior to the wonders that you will provide us with. Thank you for redeeming us. I love You. Amen.

YOUR TURN:
Is there something you’ve been reluctant to do because of doubt/worry?
Challenge yourself to have a positive mindset when making decisions, keeping in mind that the Lord will ALWAYS provide. Dare to blindly trust when God is leading you.
