Because of Jesus

"I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. The righteous cry out and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:4-5, 17-18)

Let's point out the white elephant in the room: life isn't always peaches and cream. As sinful humans, we constantly manage to fall short, drop the ball, and live according to our own selfish desires. If we aren't careful, it's easy to fall into a hopeless and pessimistic mindset. But, no matter how desperate and depressing life gets, Christ is our constant Savior.

Your worth is not found in your relationships, your performances or your looks. Nothing can define you except the blood of Christ. When God looks at you, He gazes upon a valuable, beautiful daughter. If you have accepted Jesus, the Lord sees you covered in the perfection found in Christ's blood. Your circumstances no longer define you, your past no longer defines you, only the pure, spotless blood of the Lamb defines you. You are priceless, you are loved, and you are not a slave to your sin. Because of Jesus, you have hope.

No matter how far you wander or how hard you fall, Christ will always be there to pick you back up. You can never reach the point where you're gone too far for the love of Christ to reach you. He is always present, always compassionate, and always listening to your prayers. Your deepest wounds matter to the sovereign God of the universe.

When you mourn, He mourns. What you care about, He cares about. Why? Because He loves you with an unfathomable love that will never run out and never walk away. Your tears and your heartbreaks are never in vain. God is using the pains of your life to write a beautiful story and weave together a wonderful masterpiece.

Because of Jesus, you have hope.

Even in the midst of our darkest moments and most catastrophic failures, Christ will never once leave your side. He cares for you with an everlasting love. You are His flawless treasure and His beautiful bride. In fact, He sent His own Son to carry all of your mistakes and sins because He couldn't bear to be apart from you. He longs to be with you in an intimate and personal way and to hold your hand through the rock road of life, catching you when you fall.

Psalm 56:8 says that He collects your tears and keeps track of your sorrows. He's not ignorant to your pain or deaf to your desperate cries. Because of Jesus, you have comfort. In Christ, you are now and you are set aside for a glorious purpose. Luke 12:7 tells you to not be afraid because God knows the number of hairs on your head. He understands everything about you and loves you regardless.

It is crazy to think that He sees you and your best and at your worst and still longs to be with you. Nothing you ever do will take away His beautiful purpose for your life. You can have piece knowing that God already has things figured out and that His plans will always be accomplished. The fulfillment Christ gives to you is unsurpassed: nothing will ever be able to fill your longing should as much as the love of your Savior.

In Him you lack nothing. Because of Jesus, you have peace.

Daughter of the King, take heart knowing that your Father loves you more than you will ever be able to understand and that you are here in this moment for a reason. Whether you feel life is basket of sunshine or a bucket of storm clouds, Christ can empathize with you and give you everything you're searching for. Turn to Him and He will never disappoint you.

Because of Christ, you have everything.

Abba, life is so hard, but You are so good. Teach me to walk with You and to fall on You when I can no longer stand. Show me how to be with You constantly. Give me your joy and Your peace because nothing else in this world will satisfy me the way You do. Remind me over and over again of Your promises and of Your love. Teach me to run away from the things that take the place of You in my heart.

How have you seen God work through pain in the past?
What pain are you clinging to?
Who or what do you find worth in?
Do you truly believe that Christ can fulfill you?
